When you give me a copywriting project, I have a lot of research to do before I ever write a word. I need to learn all I can about your company and your product.

I will study your past sales promotions (successes AND failures) and any data you have accumulated concerning the demographics of your target market.

All this research will help to determine your Unique Selling Proposition (USP).


This is what sets your product or service apart from the competition and creates a unique benefit that we can present persuasively to your prospects.

Once I have discovered a potent USP, I am ready to start writing.

As this process unfolds, I may need to briefly contact you for some additional information to flesh out needed details on some aspect of your product's benefits or features.

After researching, writing, re-writing, editing and proof-reading (this usually takes 2 to 3 weeks for a typical sales letter) I will have finished a proposed draft to submit for your approval.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the copy. We can discuss any changes you want made. Once you have marked up your copy of the proposed draft, I will work from those notes to create the final draft.
